CHAISE at the 7th International Balkan Conference on Communications and Networking (BalkanCOM)

From 3 to 6 June 2024, representatives from the CHAISE Consortium participated in the 7th International Balkan Conference on Communications and Networking in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This conference brought together various researchers to promote the free flow of knowledge and technology in the Balkans and with neighbouring nations.
At the conference, CHAISE partners hosted the special session “Future of Decentralized Systems, European Partnership”, where several academics had the opportunity to present their research findings on blockchain technologies. The session was proposed and chaired by Parisia Ghodous, Professor of Computer Science at University Lyon 1, and Matevž Pustišek, Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana.
The session featured five presentations, including:
- ‘Stochastic analysis and cryptography as key pillars for micro-credentials skills for Bitcoin’s Basic Knowledge’ presented by Paraskevi Kotsifakou
- ‘Decentralized Solutions through Micro-credentials at University of Ljubljana’ presented by Andrej Kos
- ‘Layered Blockchains and Proving Systems: Unlocking New Use Cases’ presented by Jay Bojič Burgos
- ‘Use of modular composable non-fungible tokens in advanced use cases’ presented by Jan Turk
- ‘STAMP: Blockchain and DAO-based Student Attendance Management Platform’ presented by Raimundas Matulevičius
All presentations resulted in insightful and engaging discussions, and participants had the opportunity to become CHAISE Associated partners and join the Alliance.
