CHAISE National Information Day for Slovenia

4 June 2024

On June 4, CHAISE National Day for Slovenia was held at the KULT 316 Culinary and Tourism Centre in Ljubljana. The event featured insightful discussions and presentations focused on the CHAISE project’s initiatives and achievements, as well as on the future of AI and blockchain.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation of the CHAISE Blockchain Skills online course curriculum, followed by a discussion moderated by Barbara Kunčič Krapež from the Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training (CPI). Additionally, Lorcan Kelly from the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) presented an approach for monitoring the blockchain labour market, which led to engaging conversations about forecasting methodologies and outcomes.

The event included two significant lectures: one provided by Dr. Samo Božič, who shared insights on blockchain-related professions and the lifecycle of technologies and and another one by  Dr. Uroš Ocepek, who discussed the relationship between AI and Blockchain technology, exploring whether they are digital revolution brothers or technological investment rivals.

Throughout the day, discussions underscored the necessity for significant changes to accommodate new technologies. There was a unanimous call for support from all stakeholders involved in developing and implementing these technologies. Overall, the consensus emphasized the need for training and education of both young and adult populations to meet labour market demands, adhere to sustainability principles, and enhance competitiveness.
