After the piloting phase, there will also be the possibility to get certifications for modules taken via the MOOC.

Certification process

The CHAISE Blockchain skills needs and demand analysis identified three emerging job profiles in the blockchain sector: Blockchain Developer, Blockchain Architect, and Blockchain Manager.

To be certified as one of these job profiles, the learner has to collect theory and practical badges for each module.

The achievement of a theoretical-practical badge will lead to the award of a module certificate. As the CHAISE MOOC includes a lot of learning material, the learner will “collect” badges and module certificates as he/she moves through the course.

  • To obtain the theory badge, learners must take CHAISE blockchain skills online course, which includes a theory part plus a multiple-choice exam for each course module.
  • Another option to obtain the theory badge is to take the multiple-choice exam directly, thus skipping the theory part of the module.
  • To pass a module it is necessary to achieve at least the 66%. of the module.
  • Once the multiple-choice exam is passed, the theory badge for that module is issued.
  • No previous experience or practical elements are required to obtain this badge, but it is recommended to do the practical elements as well.

There are two ways to obtain the practical badge:

  • No experience: the learner has to successfully pass all the practical elements from the module. The practical exercise, Q&A as well as the case study are considered practical elements. It is advised that the learner also goes through CHAISE blockchain skills online course and takes the Multiple Choice exam, but this is not required for only the practical badge.
  • With experience: the learner previous experience will get validated by a validation committee, according to pre-established criteria. Once their experience is validated, the learner will obtain a practical badge.

Once the learner has successfully obtained the practical & theory badge of a module, he/she will be awarded with the Module certificate.

How to obtain the full course certification?

  • To obtain the full certification and be recognised as a Blockchain Manager, Architect or Developer, the learner has to have collected all module certificates, which are required for the job profession.
  • Theoretical and practical badges are valid for 2 years.
  • Within these 2 years, the badges act as a prerequisite for the full course certification.
  • The badges must be used in time to obtain the certification, otherwise they lose their validity.
  • The certificate is also valid for 2 years, from when the student passed was awarded with the module certificates.

The full course certification will be issued by CHAISE partner ECQA.
